About Kukke Subramanya Temple
As Lord Subramanya and the serpent god Vasuki are worshipped together, this temple is particularly revered. It is thought that by providing sanctuary here, Lord Subramanya shielded Vasuki (king of serpents) from Garuda. As a result, the temple is thought to be very effective in treating Sarpa Dosha (Naga Dosha). Sarpa Samskara: A potent two-day rite for people with Sarpa Dosha brought on by karma from previous lives or ancestral curses. A one-day rite to appease serpent gods and nullify doshas is called Ashlesha Bali.
Installing serpent idols to provide lifetime relief from Naga Dosha is known as Nagaprathishta. Before entering the temple, devotees take a bath in the sacred Kumaradhara River during Kumaradhara Theertha Snana. The temple has a sizable sanctum and traditional Kerala wooden architecture. Lord Subramanya, along with Vasuki and Shesha Naga, is the primary deity.
